Starting with one of the black and white paper tape drawings mounted on the wall, the students and I worked collaboratively expanding it to 28 foot long. Students expanded their understanding of drawing combining scale and material to make the gesture. In a parallel project, an 8 foot cube was constructed upon which fictitious explosions/ruptures were sculpted by students. The disruption of the purity of the geometric referenced the pent up energy of a geological explosion within the safety of an interior space.
